Amazon purportedly ended the release Lord of the Rings game


Amazon is reported to make the cancellation in the progress of its new coming Lord of the Rings video game.


In the time the game had been in progress at Amazon Game Studios in cooperation with Tencent’s Leyou Technologies, it has been recently reported that progress has been screened within an agreement discussion between megacorps Amazon and Tencent.

Complete license documents about the Lord of the Rings MMO exposed online at the closing of the previous year, giving hints that “as part of the purchase of Leyou by Tencent” a group of lawful documents was gone public, “including Leyou’s original Game License Assent for the Lord of the Rings game with Middle-earth Enterprises and the co-development and collaboration agreement with Amazon”.




The shown post consisted of the assent documents and a production schedule presenting the organization of the MMO, with a first postal order of the full game myths and narrative expected to be completed by January 11, 2021.

But, now, an Amazon protagonist has told Bloomberg that next Tencent’s accession of Leyou, it has “been not possible to fix terms to progress with this name at this time”.

There have been enough of Lord of the Rings IP in the coming years, including Monolith Production’s Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The upcoming game to be dropping in JRR Tolkien’s fantasy world is Daedalic Entertainment’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum which is awaited to set in motion in 2021.


Exactly five months following the free-to-play shooter set in motion in May 2020, Amazon Games came to halt for the progression on Crucible, the very first expensive budget game.
